Broadwell is a beautiful Cotswold village found 1.5 miles north of Stow on the Wold.

Along with its large village green and traditional pub, it boasts attractive Cotswold stone cottages, its own stream and a historic church, St. Paul's. The Domesday Book records Broadwell as having 46 inhabitants in 1086.

Transport Links

Broadwell enjoys easy access to Kingham railway station - journeys by car take around 13 minutes - and it allows commuters fast, direct line journey to London Paddington via Oxford.

The village sits between Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh - just off the Fosse Way - and is excellently positioned for travel to other destinations including Chipping Norton, Cheltenham, Bourton on the Water and Stratford upon Avon.

The nearby supermarkets at Stow and Moreton are within easy reach. Daylesford Organic, a luxurious shopping oasis, spa centre and cafe, lies a short distance eastwards on the road to Kingham.

Things to Do

Broadwell's Fox Inn is a cosy Cotswold pub with family-friendly atmosphere, a selection of ales and an Aunt Sally pitch.

A well-preserved Jacobean manor, Chastleton House, is only a few minutes drive to the east of Moreton in Marsh. But Broadwell's proximity to all the major Cotswold centres means residents needn't go far for entertainment.

The nearby Stow Primary School is a community school for children aged 4-11. Dormer House, an independent primary school, is found on the high street in Moreton in Marsh. The nearest comprehensive is the Outstanding-rated Cotswold School in Bourton on the Water, named by the Sunday Times in 2015 as the best in the country.
